I’m a little late on our three year old pictures, since Evie’s birthday was actually last month, but better late than never! We had some mommy/daughter time and went out for a little mini session to capture her BIG personality so I can always remember exactly what life is like right now. It’s loud. It’s hectic. It’s patience-testing. It’s magical. It’s full of pretend. It’s crying. And then laughing. And then probably crying again. It’s a lot of big emotions coming out of a little person. It’s lots and lots of fun! If you want to get mushy with me, you can see some of her milestone sessions here to reminisce: 8 months | 1 year | 15 months | 18 months | 2.5 year
Genevieve is great at reminding us all to stop and play. I’m amazed at her maturity and empathy. She loves helping her little brother and likes to get treated like a baby sometimes, too. She’s great at expressing what she feels, which has helped all of us to be better communicators about our feelings. Amidst it all, we are living in her pretend world. Beast and Gaston are regulars at the dinner table, always making a mess. Evie prefers to be referenced as Moana or Elsa or Spiderman. And there is almost always a troll popping up causing some trouble.
She’s really leaving the baby stage, as much as I try to keep her little. As she argues with me like a 16 year old, I’m a little worried about what the future may hold, but her sweetness is still the cornerstone of her personality. I usually serve dinner with her exclaiming, “Thanks, Mom! Thanks for making this for me!” or I hear her in the toy room with Cain as he fusses over something, “Oh, it’s ok, little boy. You just have to be patient and try again. That’s right!”
I’m so proud of this little sweet firecracker! I feel so lucky to get to be her mommy!
