Happy 4th of July! Ok, well it’s the 6th of July now…but the sentiment is still there. As an Iowa City photographer, I have photographed all kinds of kids. But my kid still challenges me more than anyone else to get a good picture. She is 22 months and does not hold still pretty much ever. As you can see in these pictures from our 4th, she is always on the move! I may not have very many photos of her posing with a smile, but I do have photos that totally capture her personality at the moment! Someday she will be a sulking teen that I can’t get off the couch, so I’ll enjoy her bustling energy while I can.
This year was Genevieve’s first time going to a parade. Thank goodness I had snacks in the diaper bag for the wait before the parade started, or we would have been in trouble. She is still talking about the horses she saw and I have video of her later in the day practicing her baton twirling skills after seeing the local club walk by in the parade. Later in the day we went to Muscatine to see Ryan’s family. We had a nice bbq and the three of us managed to stay awake long enough to see the fireworks by the riverfront over the Mississippi. Evie loved them, even though they were really “Youd!”
This kid is obsessed with picking up sticks. We have a pile in the driveway from all of the sticks she picks up on our daily walks.
“Evie will you hold still and smile for one picture?” “Nnnnnope!” *runs around like a madwoman*
