One of the services I offer to area families is Iowa City in-home newborn sessions. This allows mom and baby to just stay home in their safe little nest while I capture those fleeting early days where they seem to change by the hour. I prefer a natural style of posing, so usually I just get baby nice and snuggly and photograph them simply as they are. Of course, I welcome family members to join in for some photos. I take a more lifestyle photojournalistic approach to document those sweet, hectic, blurry early days when everyone is getting used to the new normal.
A benefit to my simple in-home newborn sessions is being able to pause when needed to feed baby and you don’t have to worry about if you packed what you needed to the studio. You can just steal away to the nursery for a few moments of quiet, or just feel comfortable being in your own space.
Isn’t sweet little Greta precious? And her big brother, Jacob, was so proud! Jacob gave me a run for my money last fall during their family session before sister was born. He was not a fan of getting his picture taken during that session…but he couldn’t stop grinning when I came over after his sister arrived!
