Rainy Coralville Lake Engagement Session | Iowa City Weddings

Today’s rainy afternoon reminded me of this rainy Coralville Lake engagement session that was taken last April.  And just like as I am typing right now, the sun came out right as we were driving away.  Funny how mother nature plays with us, right?  Secretly, rainy engagement sessions are my favorite.  There’s something so sweet about snuggling up under an umbrella or tapping into your inner kid as you just accept the raindrops.  I was super excited that Karen wanted to chance it, rather than reschedule because of the forecast.

Somehow, this rainy day was a perfect metaphor for their upcoming wedding.  We can’t control what we can’t control, but we can control how we respond to it.  Karen and Tony’s wedding was originally scheduled for May 23rd…well, obviously, things are beyond our control right now.  But they have handled this all with grace and will be getting married later on this summer.  And they have each other to laugh together, and try to accept the raindrops, as we get through it!  Really, this whole experience is great marriage training for all of you couples this year!

I would love to photograph your own rainy Coralville Lake engagement session…rain not guaranteed.  Click here to get in touch about any of your photography needs!
