I’m so excited about sharing this Cedar Rapids same sex wedding at Cedar Ridge Winery from earlier this year. Let me just take a moment to say, I hate including those keywords because a wedding is a wedding, no matter who is exchanging vows. But Google likes keywords and I want to be found by other same sex couples in the area, so please excuse the clarifying phrase.
And now, on to Ben and Danny’s love story! They met on a blind date at Mickey’s Irish Pub in downtown Iowa City and the rest is history. When I asked what they were most excited about in married life, Ben said they were practically married already and Danny said he couldn’t wait to say, “Good Morning, Husband!”
They are each other’s best friend and believe that’s an important part of their successful relationship. It is so obvious when you spend time with them that they really are best friends. They balance each other so well, with Ben taking the reigns on planning and Danny reminding him to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Their wedding was such a relaxed celebration of two people dedicating their lives to each other. I wish you both a lifetime of contentment and I hope we’re all here to celebrate your 50th anniversary on 4/20/69!
