I am so flipping excited for this announcement, you guys. I. Have. A. Studio. Space. YAY!!! I’ll be sharing space with some fellow creatives at Little Lights Events in the historic Hoover House in downtown West Branch. I will finally have the ability to offer indoor portrait sessions. Plus, this space is GORGEOUS. It’s cozy, quaint and full of classic character. There are exposed beams, brick walls, bright and airy window light…it gives me all the heart eyes. I’ve dreamed of having an Iowa City photography studio for years, and I’m so happy to find a little spot to be my creative home.
You may recognize the name Little Lights. The space is used for intimate weddings and a fun place to host showers, parties and meetings. This space is still available for event rental, and the owners are expanding by building a larger venue on the edge of town. Visit their site, Little Lights Events, to learn more about renting this space for your wedding or event and to get a peek at the new venue!
My main goal with this space, is to continue growing my boudoir business. I have found a second love with making women feel beautiful through these portraits. Weddings will always have my heart, but I’m loving the whole process of getting women pampered and guiding them to embrace their inner goddess. As you can see from the setup above, these sessions have a vintage, romantic feel to them and this space compliments that vision beautifully.
Here’s a few more photos of the space so you can get excited about this with me!

I’ve had a few sessions in the space already and it is just meant to be. It perfectly matches my style of shooting and allows me to create some seriously stunning boudoir portraits. Plus, a fun fact of the building is that it used to be home to a brothel. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not, but it’s interesting and slightly fitting nonetheless.
