Today’s post is a little #throwbackthursday post to Megan and Matt’s wedding last summer. I can’t believe they are getting ready to celebrate their first anniversary soon! Being a Waterloo IA wedding photographer, the area is full of some great areas for portraits and celebrations. Matt and Megan’s wedding took us all over the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area to document their special day. Their love radiates through all of their photos! It was such an honor to be able to capture their day.
We started the day at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waverly. Megan was surrounded by her mom, sister and mother-in-law, along with her closest friends. They were all so relaxed as they helped Megan get ready in her beautiful dress.
The church also gave us the perfect spot to incorporate Matt’s beloved classic car in their first look with each other. You may recognize it from their engagement photos which you can see by clicking here.
Since we were in Waverly, Wartburg College provided the perfect backdrop to capture portraits of the wedding party.
Afterwards, we all headed back to the church for the wedding ceremony. Once again, I teared up during the vows. I can’t help it, I’m a romantic.
On our way to the reception, we made a detour with the wedding party to Single Speed Brewery in downtown Cedar Falls. It’s such a cool little brewery and it was a nice way for Matt and Megan to start letting loose before the party got started. We also had some time to steal away from the guests for some quiet moments as a married couple.
The reception took place at the UAW Hall in Waterloo. The huge quilt was made for the couple by Megan’s mom (a tradition started with her older sister) and the hydrangeas in the centerpieces were picked from Mom’s garden that morning.
